Aren’t you afraid to get your hands dirty? On the contrary, you’re eager to lend a hand in caring for our family of trees and plants and to learn more about gardening. The Ortolani Group offers you just that: they meet twice a week—often on Tuesday evenings and once on the weekend—to fertilize, water the plants, pull weeds… and, of course, enjoy the harvest!

The meetings are organized by Fuori dai binari, a collective of queer and neurodivergent people who have been meeting at the farmhouse every two weeks since the summer of 2023. The meetings follow the dynamics of self-help groups: starting from personal experiences, participants discuss topics related to the LGBTQ+ community and the world of neurodiversity. The meetings are informal, egalitarian, and aim to provide a safe space for everyone whose experiences fall outside of binary norms.
The members of the collective have integrated very well into the La Città dell’Utopia community, participating in assemblies, helping out at other events, coordinating the kitchen during a couple of large events, and organizing small, self-managed events such as queer film screenings or a game night (a queer version of Lupus in Fabula).
The meetings are organized by a group of friends, with the aim of extending the experience of the self-awareness circle to others who are not friends. They have been held twice a week since October 2024. The meetings are free and open to anyone who identifies as male; they are spaces for listening and non-judgment, and aim to foster greater awareness and deconstruct patriarchal dynamics through a transfeminist approach. The core group consists of a core group of about 6 people, with an average of 10 participants and peaks of 20 attendees.
The Café Philo is a free, open-to-the-public gathering coordinated by philosophers Domenico and Orsola, who live in the neighborhood. The meetings have been taking place regularly for about two years, but over the past year, efforts have been made to ensure greater consistency by publishing a calendar at the beginning of the year listing the dates and topics; the goal of consolidating the group has been achieved, and today the meetings attract a good turnout. Here, too, the participants seem somewhat disconnected from the rest of the activities at the farmhouse. Domenico and Orsola, however, when asked, have always been very willing to participate in other activities, bringing their “philosophical practice” with them.
Since 2025, we have been hosting the meetings of the Rome chapter of Ultima Generazione. Ultima Generazione is a nonviolent civil disobedience movement. In Rome, activists protest against climate collapse through roadblocks and sit-ins (often near Montecitorio or government buildings), calling for a reparations fund for environmental disasters.
