Rome’s one-of-a-kind, inimitable, and highly anticipated International Soup Festival is organized by Città dell’Utopia every spring.
We’ll always come together to celebrate Soup, a simple dish found in every home and shared by all cultures around the world! As always, we’ll enjoy it alongside performances, music, and the traditional (friendly) soup competition!
Soups are as old as the invention of cooking itself. Soup is a comforting dish, something that makes us feel warm and at ease. Every culture has its signature soup, every person has their favorite soup, and every family has its own secret recipe.

Founded in Lille in 2001 and subsequently spreading throughout Europe, it arrived in Bologna, Italy, in 2004. For more than 19 years, the Rome edition has sought to create, through the Festival, a fun opportunity to share a wealth of recipes from around the world.
The Festival is based on the principles of recycling and reuse, and is dedicated to combating food waste. Food is a resource and a treasure—not to be exploited, but to be respected!
The festival is supported by volunteers participating in the international camp and by local activists.
